Explanation
Proposal Approval And Legal Signature Boundaries
ScopePilot approval records that a client accepted a proposal version. It is not designed to replace a legal e-signature product by itself. What Approval Means In ScopePilot
When a client approves a proposal, ScopePilot records:
- Client name
- Client email
- Approval timestamp
- Proposal version
- IP address
- User agent
The proposal status becomes approved, and the approved version is locked from direct editing.
Why Approved Proposals Are Locked
Locking protects the client record. The approved version should continue to match what the client accepted.
If the agency needs to change scope, price, timing, or terms after approval, create a revision or change order instead of editing the approved version.
What Approval Does Not Guarantee
Proposal approval does not automatically create a legally sufficient signature process for every agreement, jurisdiction, or client requirement.
If a deal requires formal contract execution, use ScopePilot approval alongside the legal contract process your agency requires.
