Create Your First Proposal
Use this tutorial to go from a new ScopePilot trial to a previewable proposal. Before You Start
You need access to a ScopePilot workspace. New users start from the 7-day trial flow, choose a plan, complete Stripe checkout, and then create an account with a name, email address, and password.
1. Start A Trial
- Open ScopePilot.
- Select Start 7-day free trial.
- Choose Solo or Team.
- Complete the Stripe checkout step.
- On the account setup page, enter your full name and password.
- Select Create account.
After account creation, ScopePilot opens the first proposal builder.
2. Enter The Client
In the first proposal builder, fill in:
- Client contact
- Company
This creates the client record used by the proposal.
3. Enter The Scope
Add at least one service. The first service requires:
- Service name
- Category
- Pricing model
- Quote price
- Estimated cost
- Hours
- Timeline
- Description
- Deliverables
- Terms notes
Optional services can be added in the same form.
4. Review The Margin Estimate
ScopePilot shows the proposal price, estimated cost, gross profit, and margin against the workspace target margin.
If the margin is below target, adjust price or cost before continuing. You can still record a decision to send below target later, but the warning is meant to prevent accidental underpricing.
5. Create The Proposal
Submit the builder. ScopePilot creates the proposal and opens an authenticated preview.
The preview shows what the client will see: prepared-for details, proposal summary, investment, scope, and approval instructions.
6. Continue From Preview
From the preview or proposal editor, continue with:
- Edit the proposal if scope, price, or wording needs work.
- Send the proposal when it is ready.
- Open the client link after the proposal has been sent.
Next: Build and send proposals.
